Get Listed Where Buyers Compare and AI Tools Look
When buyers search "best [your category]", they read comparison lists. When they ask ChatGPT the same question, it often draws on those same lists. Sourcevia gets your brand into the listicles and articles that rank on Google and get cited by AI.

What Is a Listicle Placement?
A listicle placement is getting your product included in a list-style article, such as "10 Best CRM Tools for Startups" or "Top Alternatives to [Competitor]". These articles target buyers who are actively comparing options, so being listed puts you in front of people close to a decision.

What Is a Brand Mention?
A brand mention is any time another website names your brand, with or without a link. Mentions in trusted articles, reviews and discussions help search engines and AI tools connect your brand with your category and topics.
Why it matters
Why Listicles Matter More in the Age of AI
Comparison lists sit where buying intent, Google rankings and AI recommendations meet.
- 01Buyers read them.
"Best" and "alternatives" searches come from people choosing a product, not just learning.
- 02They rank.
Strong comparison articles often hold top Google positions for high-intent keywords for a long time.
- 03AI tools cite them.
When someone asks an AI tool for recommendations, comparison and review pages are among the most common sources it draws on.
One placement works three ways:
- ReadersReferral traffic from readers
- GoogleLink value for Google
- AI toolsA source AI tools can use to recommend you
Placement types
The Placements We Secure
Five kinds of placement, chosen for where your buyers compare products. Need links to specific pages instead? See our link building services.
"Best Of" Lists
Inclusion in articles like "Best [category] for [use case]" that rank for your buyers' main search terms.
Alternatives and Comparison Articles
Placement in "[Competitor] alternatives" and "[A] vs [B]" articles, where buyers who know your competitors are looking for other options.
Editorial Brand Mentions
Your brand named in relevant industry articles, guides and expert roundups, with a link where it fits naturally.
Unlinked Mention Reclamation
Articles that already mention your brand without a link. We ask the publisher to add one.
Review Profile Setup
We set up and complete your profiles on review platforms like G2 and Capterra, which AI tools often cite. We help you ask real customers for honest reviews.
What We Won't Do
- Write fake reviews or pay for positive ones
- Post undisclosed promotional comments on Reddit, Quora or forums
- Hide that a placement was paid when it was
- Put you on lists that exist only to sell spots
List quality
How We Choose Which Lists to Target
Not every list is worth being on. We rank every opportunity by these checks before it goes on your approval list.
| What we check | What we look for |
|---|---|
| Google ranking | The article ranks on page one for a keyword your buyers search |
| AI citations | ChatGPT, Perplexity or Google AI Overviews cite it for your category questions |
| Real traffic | The page and site get steady organic visitors |
| Fit | Your product genuinely matches what the list is about |
| Freshness | The article is updated regularly, so it keeps ranking and stays accurate |
| Editorial standards | The publisher reviews products, rather than listing anyone who pays |
A list that ranks and gets cited by AI is worth more than ten that do neither.
Our honest position
The Truth About Paid Listicle Placements
Some publishers include products for free on merit. Others charge a fee for a spot or a better position. We use both, when the list is worth it. Most agencies don't tell you which is which. We do.
- Every placement in your report is labeled as earned or paid, with the fee shown if there was one.
- Paid placements should be disclosed by the publisher, and paid links should carry a sponsored or nofollow tag, as Google's spam policies require. We only use publishers that follow these rules.
- A paid spot is only worth it if the list ranks and gets cited. We never recommend one on traffic or Domain Rating alone.
How placements appear in your report
This way, you always know what you're paying for, and you're never exposed to the risk of hidden paid links.
Process
How Our Listicle Placement Service Works
Four steps. You approve every target article before we pitch.
- 01Find the lists that matter
We search your buyers' "best" and "alternatives" keywords on Google and ask the same questions in AI tools, then note which lists appear and which competitors are on them.
- 02Prioritize and approve
You get a ranked list of target articles with traffic, rankings and AI citation data, marked as earned or paid opportunities. You approve the targets.
- 03Pitch your product
We contact each editor with a clear, tailored pitch: what your product does, who it's best for, and the facts they need to include it accurately.
- 04Track and report
Each month you see new placements, whether each was earned or paid, and changes in your AI mentions.

Do listicle placements help SEO?
Yes, when the list is on a relevant site that ranks. A placement can send interested readers to your site, add a link that helps your rankings, and give AI tools another trusted source that recommends you. A list nobody reads or cites adds little.
Do brand mentions without a link help?
They can. A mention without a link passes no direct link value in Google, but it still reaches readers and helps AI tools associate your brand with your category. Where a link fits naturally, we also ask for one.
Can you guarantee the #1 spot on a list?
No. The publisher decides what to include and in what order. Our job is to give them accurate, useful information so your product is fairly considered. If a publisher only offers a top spot for a fee, we tell you before anything is agreed.
Can you get us mentioned on Reddit?
We don't post fake or undisclosed promotional comments. They break community rules and can damage your reputation. We can help your team join relevant discussions openly, as your brand, and find threads where your product genuinely answers the question.
Can you get us more reviews on G2 or Capterra?
We don't write or buy reviews. We help you set up a strong profile and a simple process for asking real customers to leave honest reviews, which is what review platforms allow.
How is this different from link building?
Link building targets links that help specific pages rank in Google. Listicle and brand mention work targets the comparison pages buyers and AI tools use to choose products. The two overlap, and many clients combine them in one plan.
